"That's just the way I am" sounds so innocent but it holds so much power. I'm all for self acceptance and really embracing who you are and how you're inherently wired. But that is not a permission slip to adopt persona's and behavior patterns that are hurtful, harmful or counterproductive. Behaviors are not the same as "WHO" you are and what natural strengths you possess but we often confuse them or cling to them.

Appreciate your insights here, as always!

I enjoyed your article, very straight forward. As is your videos. There is no softening it up. You tell it like it is and you share a scenario most can relate, so therefore it is understandable. This makes it easy to apply to oneself if we take the time to look within. Self Judgment is a place I can do a little work.
Thanks Marlene

Just speaking my truth here......your work is SO helpful to me.

I have a situation where I need to apply this to. The "starter" words you share above are a perfect intro for what I need to say.

Thanks!!

This is a great list. I am adopting if for my own...thank you. I especially am intrigued with #12. I never really thought about it that way. These days we must learn quickly to keep up.... and I CAN learn quickly, because I am willing.

Thanks Cindy. YES, it's amazing that most of us would be shocked to believe that other people don't feel "safe" enough to share their truth, but it is more common than not. I'm working on this area myself. Thanks for sharing your insights.
